No, because you’ve already paid for this. Once the VAT service on Amazon stops and you’re onboarded to our client portal, AVASK will:

You’ll be able to connect your Seller Central account to the AVASK client portal, so you’re ready before 31 October.
Will the service be different?
If you’re transitioning to AVASK via Amazon:
- Our T&Cs will be slightly different to reflect this. They won’t be exactly the same as Amazon’s, but they do mean less involvement with the platform.
- Your service level won’t change
- Your billing will be through us, not Amazon
Otherwise, you’ll see that everything is in much the same order as before
Which currency do AVASK charge their fees in?
We charge in Euros, not pounds sterling.
Can US-based sellers pay for AVASK services by credit card?
Yes, AVASK accepts credit card payments. Speak to your account manager to set this up if it hasn’t already been arranged, or if you’re experiencing any issues.
No longer needing VAT services?
Email [email protected] using the subject line ‘Opt out of VAT’ and include your Merchant ID number.
…And more about the programme ending on Amazon
Are Amazon stopping the service, or are AVASK and Amazon parting ways?
Amazon have made the decision to cease the Amazon VAT programme – but if you’re already with AVASK, we’re still your tax agents and will continue to act on your behalf.
How will this change affect my business if I sell in multiple EU countries?
It won’t. The only difference here is that Amazon is closing their tax calculation software – as an AVASK client you can use our platform and our advisory and consultation services.
Why does AVASK sometimes ask us to pay extra small amounts to certain VAT authorities in certain countries after you’ve received the Amazon VAT file?
Your VAT will still be collected and remitted in the EU by Amazon – but only for B2C transactions, not B2B. For cross-border B2B sales (such as Germany to France), there’s no VAT on that anyway.
When we ask you to pay small amounts, that all comes from domestic B2B sales – for example, German to German B2B, France to France B2B, UK to UK B2B sales. These are the only transactions where you’ll have VAT due and Amazon will not be collecting or remitting on your behalf.
Will Amazon still collect VAT on sales from the UK made in the EU through FBA?
Yes, your VAT will still be collected and remitted in the EU by Amazon. But only for B2C transactions, not B2B. That’s because of a piece of EU legislation which says that any online marketplace like Amazon, Etsy, eBay etc. all need to collect and remit VAT due in the EU on B2C sales.
Does this affect Amazon's customs and EPR programmes?
No – it’s only the tax calculation service that’s ending.
Invoices such as Merchant VAT, FBA tax, Product Ads VAT: can we download these from the AVASK client portal?
No – you can still download these from Amazon because they’re Amazon-related invoices. It’s only the tax calculation service that’s ending, so you can download all your invoices from the usual place.
How will VAT be declared for off-Amazon sales?
When you’re connected to our client portal you can upload all your transactions for sales on platforms like Shopify or eBay, and it’ll be calculated as normal.
If you’re also using Amazon VAT Services, you’ll be familiar with the additional VAT report where you complete it every month to upload your data. Doing it via our client portal works in a similar way.
We’ve simplified that report so it’s straightforward to download our template, include your sales data for off-Amazon transactions and purchase invoices, and just reupload it onto the client portal.
I have an EU OSS number where I declare all of my crossborder sales. In my normal VAT returns I just declared the domestic sales. Will I get the same report from Amazon or AVASK?
You can continue getting this from Amazon.
Amazon pulls this data from the Amazon VAT transaction report, which you download directly from them. You send this to whoever you’re retaining for OSS services.
If you’re with AVASK, we use the same report to calculate your VAT due in every country.
